7. Blood Pressure Medications

Diphenhydramine (Benadryl®) is an antihistamine. Diphenhydramine produces drowsiness, sedation, weariness, lack of focus, and memory impairment in most people.

Doxylamine is an antihistamine used for insomnia and in combination with vitamin B6 for treatment or prevention of nausea/vomiting of pregnancy.

4. Melatonin

Melatonin is a hormone produced by the brain in response to darkness to promote sleep.

It is used as a supplement for the treatment of sleep disorders, and also experimentally in combination with chemotherapy or radiation in patients with solid tumors.

3. L-Tryptophan

L-Tryptophan is present in meat, poultry, eggs, and dairy. It's utilised for anxiety, sleeplessness, and migraines.

HIgh cholesterol leads to heart disease and cholesterol lowering medications like statins reduce that risk.

Since cholesterol production is highest in the body at night, statins like simvastatin and pravastatin are most effective if taken at bedtime.

Valerian root extract is used to treat insomnia, anxiety, depression, RLS, and PMS.

It should be taken at bedtime, as it is associated with dizziness, drowsiness and mental slowness.
