Burger King Tries A Very Different Menu Idea

Burger King is the latest fast-food business to embrace the everything frenzy.

The company will test everything-seasoned buns in Huntsville, Alabama and Albuquerque, New Mexico starting September 12.

Burger King's new "Everything Menu" includes an Everything Whopper (a grilled beef patty with tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, onions, and

an everything-seasoned brioche bread) and an Everything BK Royal Crispy Chicken Sandwich (fried chicken on the same bun).

Given bagels' morning connection, the Everything Breakfast Sandwich is inevitable. It's sausage, egg, and cheese on a brioche bread with everything seasoning.

The three sandwiches are a limited-time offer to evaluate popularity before expanding.

This means New Mexico and Alabama folks who think spice is the future must show Burger King.

People have eaten poppy seeds, sesame seeds, and garlic for ages, but the popularity originated in the 1980s when New York bagel cafes put it on the "everything bagel."

Joe Bastianich, David Gussin, and Brandon Steiner, CEO of Steiner Sports, claim to have devised the seasoning.

Tasty noted a few years ago that the seasoning's broad use and customizability (some add dried onion, others caraway) make it impossible to trace down to a single person.

Monrovia, California's Trader Joe's started offering "Everything But the Bagel" spice shakers in 2017.

Putting bagel spice on other foods appealed to many, and the combination went viral on TikTok the next year. Influencer videos show it on eggs, pizza, and melons.
