Favorite Vogt signs with A's
A deal between the Athletics and their former catcher has been reached, according to Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle.
NBC Sports California's Brodie Brazil confirmed the news to Vogt.
Vogt spent five seasons with the A's(2013-2017), earning a dedicated chant from fans.
As the veteran is reunited with his old team, the roar of “We believe in Stephen Vogt” will soon resound throughout Oakland Coliseum.
Vogt hit.255 in five seasons with the A's, with 49 home runs and 198 RBI. He was a two-time All-Star (2015, 2016) and three-time Catfish Hunter Award winner for Oakland.
Vogt split time with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2019 and the Atlanta Braves in 2020, winning a World Series as Atlanta's backup catcher.
With Sean Murphy and his Gold Glove behind the plate, it's likely Vogt will keep his job.
