With questions surrounding the quarterback position and no picks on Day 2, the Carolina Panthers believe they have found a solution in Mississippi via New England.

On Friday in Vegas, the Panthers selected Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

In exchange for a fourth-round pick and a 2023 third-round pick, the Panthers selected Corral with the 94th overall pick.

The Panthers and Cleveland Browns were reportedly in talks to trade quarterback Baker Mayfield, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Bridget Condon.

Instead, the Panthers got Corral from the Pats.

Corral, a polarising but gifted quarterback, has had his maturity questioned during the pre-draft process, but his dual-threat abilities and FBS-leading 384.3 total offence per game can't be ignored.

Corral was the fourth quarterback chosen in the draught, but he may be the most likely to start.
